A Journey Through the Centuries: The Oldest Hospital in Europe

Description: tour with simple language suitable for elementary school children, accompanied by a guide who explains curiosities and peculiarities of the place, from the history of the Hospitaller order, how the sick and pilgrims were treated then, and the peculiarities of the health care world over the centuries to arouse children’s curiosity. The visit does not have an objective based on the artistic culture of the exhibits but focuses attention in a simple way by stimulating questions and interactivity from the pupils, a true journey through time.
Duration of the visit: 1 hour and 30 minutes
Participants: between 20-25 people per group

VISIT TO THE MUSEUM CENTER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
Target audience: middle and high school students
Description: guided tour through the rooms following the museum route, focusing on the artworks, the particularities of the artists of the time and the figures involved on site; the history of the museum and the decisions made over the centuries by the Popes; details on how the Hospital operated in the past; and points of interest concerning the works exhibited in the Lancisiana Library, which houses thousands of books, and in the Museum of Medical Art, where historical medical artifacts and instruments are preserved.
Duration of the visit: 2 ore
Participants: 20-25 per group, listening mode with possibility of questions to the guide
Technology: use of headphones with guide speaker
