The Mission of the Hospital

On the west wall, beneath the monumental coat of arms of Sixtus IV della Rovere—founder of the hospital—flanked by the allegorical figures of Perseverance and Providence, the fresco provides a detailed depiction of the main activities carried out within the hospital. It illustrates the roles of all those involved in the great work of charity, care, and hospitality.
